Al’s Musky Challenge is an annual fundraising event of the Rotary Club of La Crosse Downtown Club that raises money for local children’s charities. Each summer, Rotarian Al Louis spends a month fishing on Minnesota’s Lake Vermilion in search of “the big one.” Fellow Rotarians and community members make a one-time donation or pledge an amount per musky caught by Al or his fishing partner, and proceeds are divided between annually selected beneficiary organizations. This endowment fund creates a lasting legacy for the event and ensures Al’s Musky Challenge gifts will keep on giving forever.
