The fund is set up as an endowed scholarship fund to support the AAUW Joan C. Koonmen Memorial Scholarship Fund in perpetuity. Recipients of the Joan C. Koonmen scholarship are pursuing post-secondary education and self-identify as female and is over the age of 30. Recipients are selected through the AAUW Scholarship Selection process.
