2024-2025 Community Engaged Fellow NJ Jariwala

La Crosse Community Foundation is excited to welcome Nainil “NJ” Jariwala as this year’s Community Engaged Fellow! Originally from India, NJ moved to the U.S. two years ago to study business analytics and finance at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse.

He’s already making a mark there, currently serving as president of the International Student Organization and most recently working as a business management assistance lab and research analyst intern at the Small Business Development Center.

NJ is a whiz with generative artificial intelligence, pursuing independent research to predict the analytical abilities of generative AI in stock market prediction for various sectors in the New York Stock Exchange. He’s also a research assistant to Dr. Adam Stivers, chair of the finance department at UWL, assisting with prompt tuning and testing data sets to predict future financial market trends.

A dean’s list student, NJ has received notable recognitions such as the Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship for New International Students and top rankings in academic competitions.

As much as we’re hoping he learns a lot from us this year with us, we’re hoping to learn a lot from him, too!

Funded by longtime La Crosse Educators Ron and Jane Rada, the Community Engaged Fellowship program funds three $12,000 year-long fellowships, including one at the La Crosse Community Foundation. The fellowships resemble a closely mentored internship that promotes community engagement and supports philanthropy.
