The La Crosse Community Foundation has hired Lauren Journot as its new grants and scholarships manager. In her new role, Journot is the primary contact for organizations interested in applying for competitive grants.
Journot most recently served as executive director at YWCA La Crosse and said she’s excited to bring her grant-writing, administration and communications skills to improve the applicant/grantee experience.
“Through the last decade of my career, it’s become second nature to maintain an equity lens in all that I do, and I’m excited to bring that lens to this position to improve access to the foundation’s grant and scholarship processes,” she said.
Throughout her career, Journot has served nonprofit organizations. She has a bachelor’s degree in communications from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, and a long history of volunteer work in the community.
“Lauren is a skilled executive, empathetic leader and innovative collaborator,” said La Crosse Community Foundation Chief Executive Officer Jamie Schloegel. “Her problem-solving and communication skills will be tremendous assets to the foundation.”
