Announcing five new funds this spring
Please join us in welcoming the following group of new fund holders to the LCF family! Five new funds were approved by our board of directors in May.
We are incredibly grateful for all those who’ve made the choice to work with us to make a big impact for good here. I just can’t tell you how amazing it feels to work together to do so much good for the community!

Prairie Springs: The Paul Fleckenstein Trust Fund | This designated fund supports the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse River Studies Center. Its express purpose is to fund the construction of a new state-of-the-art research vessel for the RSC to expand its research in the Upper Mississippi River while training the next generation of water professionals in science, technology, engineering, and math. | Designated |
Animal Welfare Fund aka Kitty Cat & Puppy Dog Fund | This fund was created to support local animal charities dedicated to protecting and improving the lives of animals. The Fund for Animal Welfare will support pet animal rescue agencies, shelters, medical clinics, and more. This fund is advised by the Foundation’s Board of Directors and awards grants through the competitive grant program. | Field of Interest |
Emeriti Memorial Fund for the UWL English Department | Will support the UW-L English Department by funding both an annual scholarship, named the Robert and Ruth Pribek Memorial Scholarship, and the annual Emeriti Memorial Award to honor a member of the English Department. | Designated |
