Announcing nine new funds in fourth quarter
Please join us in welcoming the following group of new fund holders to the LCF family! Nine new funds were approved by our board of directors in November.
We are incredibly grateful for all those who made the choice to start a fund at La Crosse Community Foundation. One of the best parts of my job is being able to partner with good people to accomplish great things together for our community!

La Crosse Tribune Extra Effort Scholarship Fund | Scholarship | This scholarship will honor selected seniors in our area for their perseverance and dedication to overcoming obstacles or providing exemplary service to the community. |
Samuel W. Mahr Scholarship Fund | Scholarship | The Samuel W. Mahr Scholarship will be awarded each year to an Onalaska High School graduate who has advocated to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health. |
Wayne and Joan Spieker Wojciechowski Memorial Fund | Designated | This designated fund will be established through a bequest from Wayne and Joan. It will perpetually benefit St. Clare Health Mission, as the Wojciechowski's believed access to quality healthcare is a fundamental human right. This is one of many perpetual funds that Wayne and Joan created through their estate. Their legacy will live on to support many of their favorite organizations and causes forever. |
Gordon W. and Barbara Gade Fund | Designated | This fund provides grants to various charitable organizations in support of the donors' interests. |
Gordon W. and Barbara Gade Scholarship Fund | Designated | This fund supports an annual scholarship award to a student in the College of Business Administration at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. The award is intended to help a student with financial need complete their degree, so eligible candidates must be a junior, senior or graduate student. |
La Crosse Curling Club Fund | Special Project | This fund supports the construction of the new Veterans Freedom Park Recreational Center. The La Crosse Curling Club is building a multipurpose recreational center at Veterans Freedom Park which will be gifted to the city of La Crosse upon completion. |
Carney Haskell Impact Fund | Temporary Designated Fund | This fund provides grants to various charitable organizations in support of the donors' interests. |
Fund for the Arts | Field of Interest | This fund was established by Sam Servais and Katie Berkedal to support the arts in La Crosse County. |
Eric and Vicki Wheeler Fund | Donor Advised | This fund provides grants to various charitable organizations in support of the donors' interests. |

Each of the nine funds started this quarter come from one of each of our five main fund types. We have a wide assortment of charitable solutions at LCF, and we specialize in working with donors to customize funds to meet their needs. Here are the description of our five most common fund types:
