Guidestar’s recently released report, The Financial Health of the U.S. Nonprofit Sector – Facts & Observations, highlights the reality of the financial distress many nonprofits (NPOs) experience. Nearly 50% of all NPOs are not able to save even one month of operating reserves, yet are expected to deliver high quality, needed services to our community’s most vulnerable populations.

One strategy we are excited to provide to area NPOs to help them with this financial challenge is Network for Good’s Jumpstart Fundraising Program. The program offers 12-months of personalized fundraising technical assistance and donor management software to become more financially sustainable by creating and executing a month-by-month fundraising strategy right-sized to each NPO’s mission, staff, budget size and current revenue structure. Participation in the program will help each organization increase, stabilize and diversify their revenue streams to enable sustainability for continued service delivery.

These ten organizations were each awarded $3,000 in grants from the Foundation and Network for Good to participate: Hunger Task Force of La Crosse, Inc.; Big Brothers Big Sisters of the 7 Rivers Region; WisCorps, Inc.; Coulee Region RSVP; HorseSense for Special Riders; La Crosse Jail Ministry; GROW La Crosse; La Crosse County Historical Society; Hillview Urban Agricultural Center; and Adult & Teen Challenge of Western WI.

The program officially launches today with Network for Good.
