The Women’s Fund of Greater La Crosse is seeking applications for grants to be awarded for the year 2018 to non-profit organizations. The deadline for applications is May 1, 2018. The Women’s Fund of Greater La Crosse grants support to projects that:
- Impact attitudes and actions that benefit women and girls
- Promote opportunity, health and self-sufficiency for women
- Encourage women and girls to develop as philanthropists
- It does not fund individuals, lobbying efforts, annual campaigns, debt retirement, endowment campaigns nor major capital expenses.
The Women’s Fund exists to enrich the lives of women and girls so they can do the same for others. Their goal is to increase the financial resources available to programs for women and girls in our region now and in the future. Despite the dramatic advancement of women in recent decades, women are still far more likely than men to be homeless, live in poverty, be unemployed or under-employed, face violence, or live in substandard housing and have inadequate health care. They work to increase literacy, prevent violence, promote social, educational, physical, and emotional health and well-being; and encourage artistic and personal growth and economic self-sufficiency for women of all ages.
The Women’s Fund awarded 22 grants with a total value over $52,000 in 2017. For more information, and to apply for a grant, visit the Women’s Fund website.
