“Welcoming Week” Proclaimed in La Crosse, September 13-22

La Crosse County Board Chair Proclaims Welcoming Week

Honoring the diversity and inclusion that makes La Crosse County a vibrant and thriving place for all residents, including immigrants and newcomers, La Crosse County Board Chair Tina Tryggestad today officially proclaimed September 13-22 as Welcoming Week in La Crosse County.

“Welcoming Week reflects La Crosse County’s commitment to creating a community where everyone belongs,” said Tryggestad. “We’re proud of our ongoing efforts to foster a culture of inclusivity, where people from all walks of life feel at home. It’s important now, more than ever, that we celebrate and build connections that strengthen our community.”

In the official proclamation, Tryggestad invited all residents in the county to renew their commitment to core American values by, in the spirit of welcoming, contributing their best efforts to their neighbors and communities.

A Week to Celebrate Diversity and Inclusion

La Crosse Area Community Foundation, a key partner in the initiative, actively promotes social capital and community engagement. LACF CEO Jamie Schloegel emphasized the importance of Welcoming Week as part of their mission.

“We are committed to building strong and inclusive communities,” said Schloegel. “Leading the charge for Welcoming Week aligns perfectly with our initiatives to foster connections between residents, create opportunities for dialogue, and ensure La Crosse is a place where everyone feels welcome and valued.”
